We all remember the impressive tech demo that EA showed off During the E3’05 PlayStation 3 unveiling. Two new screenshots have now been released along with new details about EA's highly anticipated next-gen boxing game.
Each fight will start with a video that tells the story of the two boxers. A really cool feature is that the game will record highlights in earlier fights and show these in later introduction videos. However we do hope EA includes the option to skip these videos as we all know that introduction videos no matter how cool they are, gets a bit tiresome after a while.
The actual game won’t be any less impressive. Fights will take place in real-life stadiums recreated in detail. The fighters will feature muscles that simulates real muscle movements so you can actually see the muscles move just like you would in real life, and they also cast real-time shadows on the fighter's bodies. The fighters clothing will be made from photos and texture scans, and while fighting dust particles can be seen in lit areas. Each boxer also has an individual combat style, and reacts differently to bruises and even bleeds differently! There will be no HUD, as the boxer's face and body will give away his physical and mental condition. During the fight commentators will appear in small windows' describing the boxer’s relationship with each other. Even future opponents will sometimes appear and start insulting and distracting you, trying to demoralize you during a fight.
EA is definitely trying to create the ultimate boxing game with Fight Night Round 3, and any game studio that wants to compete will sure have a tough time going 12 rounds against this heavyweighter.
